Unidentified Hose Barb on Motor

I have a VP AQ125A/270 set up. I was winterizing it yesterday and found a hose barb on the port side of the engine. It has nothing connected to it and I was wondering if someone could help me identify what it's for?



Nothing seemed to come out of it when the motor was running or when I winterized it that I noticted.

It's not just a hose barb, it's a drain valve for the block.
You can stick a hose on it to drain the antifreeze into a container.
