Awhile back, my son and I were returning from fishing to a 4 slot boat ramp at the end of a cove, water was calm, no wind. I get off on the dock to get tow vehicle while he circles out and waits.
While backing down the only available slot, theres a ~20 ft pleasure boat waiting to load in the adjacent slot. There's a couple of guys around their trailer, one on board and a late teen/early 20's girl driving the boat. She is new to this situation.
By the time I recognize this, my tailer is in the water and my son is starting to motor towards it. As I mentioned, she is new to this. She starts heading for their trailer all fine and good, but apparently the guys on the ramp thought otherwise and started telling her to turn this way and that. In no time she has the aft end over their trailer sweeping an arc across it. I'm cringing expecting to hear the worst, but heard nothing.
Thankfully, at this point, she's heading away from my trailer and my son who is just about to trailer our boat. I hook our boat and get out of there, who knows what the next pass would bring.
I think the only thing that saved them from damage was that they had their trailer buried pretty deep in the water and there were no side boards.
