Unknown model of Century 210...supposed to be 1994, but I don't think it is.

I just bought a 1994 Century 210 open bow ski boat. It has the 5.7L Alpha One 350 V8. The insurance company says that their system doens't show any 1994 210's or 21' boats. I called Century (now Yamaha) and got a helpful customer service guy who sent me a spec sheet on the 1994 Century 210. Thought this would do it, but when I open the document, it wasn't my boat. I have seen a few pics and a post with spec sheet on a 1991-92' Century 210, and it looks similar to my boat, but not exact. Any help would be appriciated. I have attached a pic here.

Details: There is no "Century" emblem anywhere on the outside of the boat; there is a "210" emblem on both sides though.

All Boats manufactured after 1972 should have a HIN (Hull Identification Number). It is typically on the starboard side of the transom. The HIN should contain the Manufacturer ID, also known as a MIC. The MIC should be the first 3 characters of the HIN. The last few digits should be the year of manufacture.

Review this link:

http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/hin.html

This should tell you the year it was made and the manufacturer.

There is a link to the USCG DB for Manufacturer by MIC. Here is the same link:

http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic1.aspx

Start with the HIN and determine the year and manufacturer. That should get you moving in the right direction.

Hey Dean,

Glad to see you've got one too! Since I bought the boat I have had to have the upper gears replaced. Turns out the gears that were in the outdrive were not the original 1:1.50. Someone had put the gears typically put in the big blocks (454 and such), 1:1.33. Anyway, I'll be happy to take a pic of my trailer. Funny thing is, I don't think mine is original trailer. My boat was kept on a lift as well. It has 4 bunks, and I had to re adjust them a bit, but they work fine. I am having a friend paint the trailer at some point in the near future. I will take pics when off the trailer next time I'm out. Still waiting for the upper unit gears to get fixed. Take a pic of yours and lets see it! I have fallen in love with mine. It rides so smooth and gets on plain ultra quick. I am guessing with the new gears 1.5's it will take a bit longer to get on plane. Is your 350 the 260hp? Does it have the Eldebrock manifold? I was wondering if the Eldebrock was OEM for that motor.

Yours sounds like it was taken care of better than mine. Mine is a 94', and I think it has the 26 gal tank. I have the brochure for that model and I am pretty sure thats what it says. I love this boat as well. I have been on boats for all my short (25yrs) life and this is the smoothest riding boat I've been on. It gets on plane extremely fast, as you said. I love the way it looks in the water! Regrettably, I have had some issue with the out drive since I bought it earlier this year. I had the upper unit rebuilt as well as the lower unit with new seals and impeller. Took it out Saturday all day, broke the gears in and it did great. Then took out yesterday after church and the upper unit gears started making noise again. I think I am going to bite the bullet and get new outdrive and be done with it.
