I just aquired a free boat (I had to haul it out of their yard), and looking to do a restoration on it. The floor was already done on it, to a point, but I want to do it the rest of the way.

Whoever redid the floor replaced the stringers at the bottom of it, and they covered it all up with fibreglass resin, than they put plywood over it and never treated it. I pulled all the old plywood off, but I have a question:

Should the plywood go UNDER the original cap that was cut, or sit ontop of it? What thickness should I be using? The stuff they had was raised up a bit off the original floor, and I fear once the carpet is on it'll be noticeable.

Once the new floor is put in, I am going to be using some more fibreglass resin and sheeting and go all over it, including over the existing cap that's left, so it's nice and sealed.

Does anybody happen to have a seastar wildcat that is complete so I can see what it looks like? The pictures I seen, it looks like the carpet covers the floor and goes all the way up the sides underneath the overhang on the top part of the boat, and in the front it goes all the way up to underneath the seats. Is this correct?

I plan on putting panels on both sides, but I want to make sure it looks as accurate as possible before I put it all back together, and pics of the interior of the boat or a similar boat would help.

The guy that replaced the floor covered in the original storage compartments in the floor, so now I am going to have to build some into the panels, and it also appears that I am going to have to use a portable gas tank since there isn't a place for the gas-tank to go. No big deal.

Pictures would be amazing!
