I have bought a 2002 Sarcraft "Starfire LE 190" with a 2002 125 Mecury ELPTO. When I took the hood off to check it out I noticed that on the right side of the motor (Standing behind it) there was a light brown and a brown with a white stripe wire that were unpluged. I pluged them back together but was wondering if someone knew what they were for or what they did or if I should leave them unpluged? Thanks for any help.

Re: Unpluged Wire

Better to leave them unplugged until someone with the elect. wiring diagram for this engine told you what they are for...It's not unusual to have some unplugged wires on outboard harness. Some may serves on different configurations (gauges, senders, etc.)

Re: Unpluged Wire

One is brown with a white stripe and one is tan. They don't match. You should not connect mismatched wires. Brown/White is for a trim gauge, tan is for whatever it might be needed for. Your boat apparently doesn't need either so they are unused.
