Unusual amount of steam at rear of baot

Does the design of the 350 Voyager create an unsual amount of steam at rear of vessel. Some design don't disturse it out and kind of hold the exhaust steam near the rear.

If I should not expect an unusual amount of steam, and the engines temp remain normal, perhaps the impellars require replacing. What temperature should I expect the water coming out of the exhaust at boat end?

The thinking here is less volume of water, equals higher temperature coming out, and creating more steam that usual?

Also depends on the ambient air temp and the temp of the water. If the engines are running at temp and you regularly change the engine impellers, then you are fine. Mine makes more steam in the summer because the water temp rises much quicker than the cool 40-50? water that comes in during the winter.

When we started seeing "steam" it turned out that water was getting into our heads. When the mechanic pulled them we discovered that two of the valves were actually rusting from within. The mechanic said steam is usually a sign of water ingress. He also said that the carver exhaust on the port motor usually takes in water because the riser's are too low. We converted ours to crusaders (which are higher up) and it's seemed to solve the problem - Mechanic can't explain why this occurs except that it is something in the boats design. But he's done 6 conversions all on Carver's and so long as the riser's on the port motor are switched to crusaders everything is fine. For some reason though, this doesn't affect the storyboard motor, only the port

Hope this helps!

Do the engines have sea strainers? Just had a boat that did steamed alot and it was clogged oil coolers.Temps were normal but exhaust hoses were hot.Installed sea strainers and was surprised at how much crap gets in them in no time.
