*Get an owners/shop manual asap....

If you assume nothing has been done, meaning you don't really know what has and hasn't been done to the engine, assume you'll have to do the fall and spring maintenance:

oil change,
oil filter,
fuel filter,
spark plugs,
drive oil replacement,
impeller replacement,
gimbal bearing inspection and lube,
ujoint inspection and lube,
inspect your belts, hoses,
shut off any open cooling lines/valves if open system,
prop removal/inspection/lube,
power trim/tilt level check,
power steering fluid check,
trailer bearing lube,
trailer tire pressure,
...might be more, but I can't remember at the moment.

But get yourself a good manual or two, start reading, and familiarizing yourself with your engine.

And welcome to iboats....

Seriously Big-T...you've invested a lot of money into your boat. It has a new engine, and that's great too...why on earth would you risk this new engine's life by not paying a qualified engine mechanic to make sure this first time around that the engine is de-winterized properly?

I'm no expert either, but I know enough to know I don't know enough in certain situations and would rather pony up the $$$ to insure I don't ruin an expensive piece of machinery rather than risk the entire engine if I do it wrong.

For something like this, since its clear its a new process to you, that you really need to call a professional in on this one.

It'll save you money in the end, and insure a happy long life for your boat's motor.
