Had the new style lower shift cable installed today. Went ok, One problem was the lower unit shift shaft "Shoe" was bigger in size then the slot for the upper unit, had to grind it down to fit. Once that was done the drive went on and off fairly easy.
Put the block and exhaust manifold plugs in, the one for the starboard side wouldn't go in, he tried to use a tap to clean up the threads, but wasn't able to get that started either. He contorted himself under the block and said there is a crack about 2" that goes through the block drain. His temporary answer for this is to get a zip-lock baggie and fill it with 5200 inside the hole and then seal the bag in place too. Has anyone heard of this before? He said that's how they fixed rental boats at Bridge Bay Resort on Lake Shasta.
