Well, it's like falling off a bike: Once I got greasy, the skills came back like I was taking the transaxle off my '69 VW Beetle...

The intermediate housing is off, the drive shaft removed, steering shaft off, etc, etc, etc...

For those of you that read a previous post, all of this was due to oil/water in the bilge, not coming from the engine as the oil level in the engine has not dropped.

Once I had the intermediate housing off, I saw NO OILY RESIDUE in the forward "cavity" where it bolts to the bell housing. I was hoping a bunch of oil and water would pour out when I took it off. Instead, I can NOW see a drop of oil coming from the base of the bell housing.

You learn somthing new every day! Now, when my intermediate housing seal kit and my seal driving kit come in, I think they will sit where they are until I can pull the motor and replace the rear seal in the motor.

Good thing it's fall or I'd be really mad!!!! (Not really - it's hard to get me mad.)

I didn't realize how much I had missed being a grease monkey though!

A little voice in my head keeps whispering, re-do the transom, put a bracket on and a 250 hp Evinrude E-Tech in!

Nah - I'd rather tool around with a REAL motor!!!

Sorry Duke. Either way, the housing had to come off, so no lost work there. Good luck with the motor!
