Well So far so good gentlemen. Thanks to your help and direction I am making some progress.

Have a manual on the way (the clymer one ) got new plugs, found a brush set for the starter (old brushes were shot But with some tinkering I got em to work for a little while) Got the wiring fixed. Power tilt/trim works well, Engine spins with what seems to be good compression on all cylinders. Draining the fuel tank
dang thing was Brim full. Thinking I should pull the carbs and give them a good cleaning while i Got things dismantled. Need to get an impeller kit yet.

So far so good I will keep you all updated.

Sounds like it's coming along! I get to do the carb once over myself this weekend. Good Luck!

Re: Update on 85 hp force L drive

I built an L-Drive if you will from an old outboard lower unit and a 12hp riding lawn mower engine.

Guy down the street deals with Force outboards and such has an old L-Drive Force out there. Think it's a Bayliner open bow, I want it. Why it's different! Could probably get it cheap!

What's the latest? I'm interested in this one!

Clean carbs? Where? I need some of that luck!
I find myself putting my carb rebuilds off. I had planned to do them this weekend but just feeling kind of lazy after working all week!
Oh well! If I get them done too quick I'll be looking something else to do!

I suppose these L drives will be collectable some day.
Check the value of a 58 Edsel Citation convertable today.
Or any of the Corvairs, or maybe even the VW 21 window micro bus.
