first, thanks to all those that helped with some great tips.....
thank you very much...
i feel that this forum can more valuble than any manual out there..
yeterday, while i posted to make sure my piston position was correct, UPS came to my door with a couple of gaskets i ordered from the states.
great , except they wanted $349.02 duty., broker fees etc.
i had to refuse the order which stalled my project.
someone in shipping had put the declared value as $ 2000, forgot the decimal which should have been 20.00.
after getting that straightened out it will be reshipped and here in a couple of days.
after all that, i find i am missing 1 single roller bearing from the connecting rod-cranckshaft
not the whole caged unit, but a single small pin..
i find i can only buy them in a set and was shocked to see there over a 100.00
does anyone know where i can find one, someone with a wrecked motor perhaps?
the bearings are in great shape and i want to reuse them
if you can help please let me know
merry christmas..happy holidays

Re: update on my 91 70hp force

Until Mercury started making long-rod engines, the crankpin and connecting rod size was the same on all engines from 20 horsepower up. Thus the 16 roller set was also the same and you can use a roller from almost any junked Chrysler or Force..

If the connecting rod is 3 inches from the bottom of the small hole to the top of the big hole, then it is the short rod. The long rod will be 1/4 inch longer. STILL: Since the crankpin is larger diameter than the short rod version, the roller MAY be the same, I have never tried so I can not tell you for sure.

I don't remeber so: If your 70 has small pistons--3.3125-- then for sure it uses the same rollers. If it has 3.375 bore, then you must double check.
