the other day when i ripped the deck out of the renken i was skeptical about doing the project. but after removing all the wet rottinf foam and wood it doesnt look near as bad.
here are some pics of the progress after removal of foam

the last 2 pics show ehere there were some port-starboard braces at one point. should these braces have holes in them so water can drain back to the bilge?

thanks
jonathan

Re: update on progress

Jonathan, take careful consideration of the project before you commence your check book. Lotsa knowledgeable help here and lots of encouragement, but after all is said and done you're making the financial and labor decisions.
Read my synopsys;
Always wear a good respirator and take pics .

Wood fore deck: I was considering doing a cladding with this:
Flexteak and/or Teak decking I have no idea what the stuff costs, but it is available in the US.

Re: update on progress

i got the motor out on sunday. and took some pics of the after. i used a large i-beam in my shop ( i work at firestone) and a chain hoist to remove the motor.

any ideas on how to rebuild those motor mounts? ive been doing a lot of research on the stringer/transom/deck replacement but havent found anything about motor mounts.
