I've had an Eagle Fishmark 240 for a number of years and finally opened the wallet to buy a LMS-522 to get colour and GPS.

For some reason I figured I would have to swap tranducers, or get an adapter (part # 99-78 ta-x2u) to work with the old transducer but once I got the new unit, the connectors all look the same (except for the colour).

I had a portable kit for the Eagle, so on a whim I hooked the new unit up to it and everything seemed to work fine. It's been snowing here, so I ain't going out on the boat to try it, but are these two compatible? Both use a 200 kHz transducer.

I just don't want to fry anything.

I have asked the same question from Lowrance, but figured someone here might know.

Buy The new transducer for the 522c. You can sell the Eagle on Ebay with the old one and get some$$ back.

The issue I I had drilled a hole in the back of the boat, stuck the transducer through and sealed the old up with Marine Tek and sealed the whole transom. If I can get away with using the old transducer, I don;t have to put more holes in the boat.

The unit came with a new transducer.

They are different. You need to use the new xducer. Thats why they changed the color of the connectors so you don't get them mixed up.
