So I'm starting to get parts together for my 1969 Starcraft restoration this coming winter and the sterndrive of the boat has already been upgraded to an se106 but the gimbal housing is still the original pre-alpha housing and was wondering what it would take to upgrade to an alpha-1? There is a guy on Craigslist here in Phoenix Arizona that has an alpha one that he is willing to let go for $25. I know it is in rough shape but I will have time to rebuild it through the summer until I'm ready for the winter when the restoration will begin. Is it a good deal? Will I need a different shaped hole in my transom and will my sterndrive bolt up to it? The pictures are my current gimbal housing and the one for sale.

Ayuh,.... Pull the drive,... Pull the motor,.... Then you can pull the transom assembly,.....

The hole may, or may not need alittle tunin',...
The 2 top- mid bolt holes will need to be redrilled, but the others will line up,...
