Hello,
I'm in the middle of installing new vinyl on some of my wooden pieces on my 1988 18' bow rider.
After cutting the new pieces from PT wood and adding foam and marine vinyl, I must admit it looks pretty good but I run into a problem.........

I have these little 1"X2" metal ( tin ) plates with vinyl on one side and a string on the other side that runs from the vinyl side through the wood and is stapled to the back side of the plywood. It's purpose is to hide the screw holes I guess.
( I hope this makes sense to you )LOL

2 questions.....

1) What is the name of these things?

2) where can I get some?

I have few that are trashed and want to replace them.

Thanks,
wncrjb

Do not forget to use only stainless steel staples. I would hate to see your hard work come undone in a year or less.

If I'm not mistaken, those are to create a tufted look. They are more ornamental than anything. They serve the same function as the button on your upholstered furniture. There are many sources for them, web sites, fabric stores, and local canvas shops.

I went to home depot and bought 3/8 electrical clamps for holding conduit. I fabricated them into shape with a hammer. worked for me.
