Here is example of the folks getting tired of waiting for the government to do its jobs.

A homeowner's association in Washington (state) was having a terrible problem with trash on the side of the road around the association's homes. The reason was that six new very big homes were being built on this road. The trash was coming from the Mexican work crews at the construction site. (McDonalds, Burger King, etc. trash blowing all over the neighborhood).

They pleaded with the site supervisors and the general contractor to no avail, called the City, the County, and the Police; your guessed it, no help at all.

So..................guess what some people in this community did?

The Home Owners Association organized a committee, named it "Inner Neighborhood Services"; then went out at lunch time to "police" the trash themselves. While picking up the trash they wore navy blue baseball caps that had the initials "INS" in large gold letters on them.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist, however, to understand what they hoped certain persons would think the gold lettering on the caps represented.

The day after their first pick up detail, wearing their caps, with some carrying cameras; 46 out of 68, of the construction workers did not show up for work that morning!!!!!!!!.............and they haven't come back yet!!!!! It has been ten days now and they still haven't reappeared.

The General Contractor, it has been said is madder than hell, but he can't say anything publicly, because he could be busted for hiring "illegal aliens".

The home owners "Inner Neighborhood Services" bunch can't be accused of impersonating the INS folks, because they have it in their home owners association records "minutes" that they voted to form the committee and the name they selected for it. They also informed the local INS office of their plans in advance. The INS staff said basically: "Have at it"!!!!

Occasionally YANKEE INGENUITY TRIUMPHS over governmental non-action !!!!! :p

My middle name is Eric. I have always wanted a nice dark blue windbreaker with my initials on the back in big yellow letters. ;)
