I am rebuilding 2 carbs from my 73 merc 850, one of the floats was stuck to bottom of bowl. Finally got it out, cleaned rod and blew out float. It does not slide on post. Other float will slide on it. I have a donor carb from a 71-ish 65 hp merc, float is the same length and diameter but different color and top dome slightly different. Donor float is black and appears good, and it slides freely up and down rod.
Stuck float and other float in bottom carb are light brown to yellow in color. Will I be ok to switch one or both floats out from donor ? Want to get this back together asap, and dont want to buy new floats and have to wait another week to finish. Thanks for your help.

Same shape float but black will work, probably new style vs old, you should have all black one's anyways, the old cork style lose the finish then become saturated.

Just looked at the diagrams, you are good to go!
