US Marine engines?

My Dad is considering buying a cruiser from the late 80's with a pair of US Marine 305 engines. I think they're marinized Chevy 305's.

Anyone know anything about US Marine? Are they any good? Are they still around? Are parts & information available anywhere?

Most if the parts will be generic - starter, alternator, water pump, distributor....

Exhaust manifolds me be specific, but if you don't mind getting a little creative when it comes time to replace them, then you should be able to use Merc or VP manfolds/risers/elbows.
