US Trailers in Europe

... the boat is being sent to Europe via Germany and then to Croatia. According to Germany ground transport companies there is a problem with US registered trailers being towed on EU roads, however I contacted Croatian authorities and they said it's not a problem if a trailer is US registered.

Does anyone have any experience regarding this matter - trailing a US boat and US trailer in Europe? Are the couplings, brake system different as so much to make this difficult / impossible?

Not that I ever plan to expereince this, but it would be interesting to know what the issue here is. Anyone with information, please advise...

Ayuh,...
It seems to Me this question would get more answers if asked in Europe, rather than here in the US,..??..??....
I don't know, nor have ever heard of anybody taking a Road Trip to Europe dragging their Boat along.....
