Use Kicker to Jump-Start Main Motor?

So I was thinking....is it possible to start the main motor using, say, an 8hp Mariner? My kicker is not connected to the battery, it is stand-alone. If I were to take the cowling off both engines, and I had jump cables, is there a way to connect both? Anybody ever do that?

Of course, I don't have a Microstart XP3, I take a regular slim jump-starter on every trip. But if that wore down.....could I actually use the kicker?

Well, If your 8HP has a charging system, sort of, but the output is very small and it would take a very long time to charge a dead battery enough to start the big motor.

There would be no way to connect the two motors and just use the charging system on the 8 to start the 115.
