Oops...I didn't read the whole post. <br /><br />Check your local classified papers, craigslist.com for your area or other local fishing/boating websites with classifieds.<br /><br />Often you can find a decent engine in this price range that includes a "free" boat and trailer. The boat is usually junk in that situation, but it is a good way to get a decent running used engine. In a lot of situations, the engines are old, but don't have a lot of hours on them. Plan on rebuilding carbs, rebuilding fuel pumps (sometimes part of the carb), replacing the waterpump impeller and replacing fuel lines. All of this is easy to do and inexpensive.
