Used trim tilt for 70 hp Evinrudee

Im at the lake this week and a local comes up and says he has a trim unit for my 1974 70 hp Evinrude. Says he’s been watching me for years pulling up my motor when docking at the rental. He said it is on a 68 with a LU and I can have it all for $100. Guess he felt sorry for me. I’m in Vermont now heading back to Ohio.

Whats involved? I’ve never looked into one.
What should I look out for?
My motor runs good, my transom is good. It’s on a 74 Starcraft SS 16 foot.

What 68 motor did it come off of. It is probably only a tilt set up that is obsolete. I would also bet it came off of a V4 motor. I.personally would save my cash.for something a little newer. Like an aftermarket set up.

FS, what do you mean by a tilt only? I admit to being clueless on the topic. Full up or full down.....no inbetween?

Tilt only means it goes up in neutral and idle only.-----Will not change drive angle at full power.

Would these be wired to a toggle in the dash?
