Need to slow boat down for trolling with downriggers currently @ 3mph need to be @ 1.5 mph
I tried using a drift sock and got down far enough but with it hooked to one side of the boat I can't turn to the other side (hooked to port can't turn starboard) was wondering if anyone has tried this before and how did they get their steering control back.
I have a 120 hp and don't have room for a kicker motor and don't want a plate over the prop don't want to affect my top end
any suggestion?
thanks Jeff

Re: using a drift sock

a bridle tied to both sides to keep it in the middle

I though of that but wasn't sure if it would work or not.
Have you tried this?
