Went to the boat show yesterday, and man, what a zoo! Which is a GOOD thing, nice to see the place packed! We go every year, and I always like to take a lot of pictures. Lots of nice product, but I'm sure glad I'm already stocked up, because about the newest thing I found at the show was higher prices!

Went thru the new Chaparral 327 SSX, which is a bowrider with a cabin below. Was a nice boat, but the cabin is little more than an opulently upholstered crawl-space. I suppose it's better than NO cabin, and they did the best they could with what room was available, but it was a bit of a letdown.

My favorite boat of the show: The Premier "floating tavern". And someone spent the $93k for it too!

I put together a slide show if anyone's interested. Was hard to get GOOD pics because of all the people, but I'm not complaining! Many pics are just random, others are a few shots of boats with the price tag afterward.

Here's the link to the slideshow, BUT NOTE, FOR THE PICTURES TO RUN IN THE CORRECT ORDER, you must press the LEFT (or back?) "next" button, not the right button! (good ol' microsoft) -- Around 80 pics or so... :)

And finally-- I hereby submit the below as the absolute strangest thing I've ever seen for sale at a boat show....

Yes, it's a wicker coffin...

Thanks for sharing! Some very nice boats there.

The floating tavern was sweet, but I'd rather my friend own it then own it myself. No fun in staying sober to skipper it while everyone else gets tipsy. Not to say anything of the $93K.... :D

Hey FR:

Thanks for sharing . . . I got a couple of college buddies that live in the Salt Lake City area . . . not sure if they were part of the crowd.

Yup, those big bowriders do have kind of a 'wannabe' cabin. Just a place to sleep really . . . and not much else.

The New England Boat show starts this coming weekend at the Boston Exhibition Center. I hope the see lots of folks and boats there . . . and get a beer and a hotdog. :thumb:
