Im using epoxy resin for the rebuild of the stringers transom and deck. I was wondering what would be the best epoxy paint i could use for uv protectection to prevent deterioation of the epoxy? Is there any protective paint that doesnt have to be sprayed on? I plan on putting carpet back in. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Have a happy 4th. Thanks Jimmy

I really like Interlux Perfection paint. It's a bit pricey, but from my research seems to be one of the best two part paints you can buy. I just put it on some fiberglass panels, and it turned out really nice. I can't report on how it lasts though.

If its covered with carpet or something else there's no need to paint. But if you do need or want to paint it, almost any paint you wish to use will work.

Re: UV protective paint for epoxy resin?

Hey thanks for the suggestions chargerboy and ondarvr. I will most likely paint it with the interlux especially on the areas that are exposed to the sun when the boat is out on the water. I would just hate for all that work of rebuilding the boat be ruined by damaging sun rays. I will also invest in a good boat cover to help with the sun rays. Again thanks for the suggestions. Hope all of you have a happy and safe 4th of July:)
