V-8 upgrade

Wondering if there is any difference in the transom hardware between an AQ 125a and a V-8. Have a donor boat for the V-8 just wondering if I have to remove more than the engine/bell assy. Will put the 4 banger back in the donor boat and sell. Yes I will keep the drives with the engines too.

I have pulled both for repairs many times so I never had to worry about the transom hardware.

The 4 cylinder engines only have a single idle relief port, V8's have two, which means the Y pipes for the V8 won't work on the 4 cylinder transom shield.

Thanks Don. Haven't checked out the donor boat completely yet. It has thru transom exhaust which may mean it was a 4 banger to begin with. Is the outdrive gear ratio in the upper?

No, it's in the lower. You need a 1.61 for the V8 assuming a 5.0 or 5.7L.
