v200 poppit valve

I have a 80's V200. Was wondering if there was an ez way to determine if my poppit needs to be replaced... I have 1-3 psi at idle and around 15-16 PSI at 80% to WOT. Last time out, I did see my water temp around 200-210 only while at higher power settings...

When was water pump impeller changed last ?----Leaking head gaskets can cause overheating .----Post results of compression test first.

Comps were all 110-115, Same as last time I checked. All plugs looked good. I looked at the poppet valve and noticed crap in the weep hole... So i took it off and the diaphragm looked horrible. I think Ill start here...
