V4 crank case btm half modifcation

What grinding/porting if any can be done to the btm crankcase half ? I heard it was possible.

I have found the intake manifold top middle cut stuff on here and that looks interesting to do.

You may be thinking of the pictured modification to the block and pistons skirts.
