V6 135hp 1988 to 200hp Leg swap??

Gday all,Got a crack on bottom of leg.Repaired a few times though still leaks water.Corrosion winning battle.
Guy down street selling same year 200HP 88.Will his leg fit and work on my 135HP??
I know some 200hp have 2:1 ratio.

More than likely its a 1.87. You can check it by tha "turn tha flywheel" deal. Just use yours if ya wanna keep tha 2:1. Your motor will have a bigger exhaust opening on tha block. Tha 200 is smaller. You can use tha larger hole "metal reinforced" adapter gasket if you want. It will hold up pretty well. Or you can swap tha adapters themselves. Tha tuners are different also. Yours is gonna be longer than tha 200. No need ta change 'em unless ya just want to....................

Thanks dukedog,but I don't have a choice.My leg is on the way out and eventually the crack will spread and could open up and spit out prop,shaft...the lot out the back door.

"Choice" was refering to tha gearcase. Is it tha gearcase and/or tha downhosing or "both" that's cracked?

Only gearhousing is cracked.

All V6 (2.0, 2.4, 2.5) gearcases will interchange as long as they are tha same length (15, 20, 25, 30 inch etc.).Ya may/may not need a prop change with tha different gears which more than likely will be tha case. Just something ya gotta try for yourself...........GL
