Happy new year all! I recently picked up a new boat with the V6-200 in it. It was a dealer left-over so I got a decent deal. I would have preferred the 225 but didn't go that route. Looking at the two engines, they look identical other than a higher max RPM on the 225. Looking ahead a few years when this boat is out of warranty, does anyone know of a tuner that unlocks the difference. Googling it, I only come up with the Magnum Tuning option. Is that a good solution or is there something else out there? Thanks!

First of all, we would need a little more info about the engine? Is it carbed or is it injected? Engines of significantly different horsepower can 'look' identical but, actually share very few parts

Sorry for lack of detail. Current (2016) mpi engines. I have the V6-200-A. It seems to share parts diagrams with the V6-225-A that revs 200rpm higher.

Does it share all the same identical part numbers, including the ECM?

The only changes I can find are the ECU and the HP decal on the top. That's why I am assuming it is just software based. So good news is that I think I can swap those modules but new is over $1000. Maybe a used one will turn up. Just didn't know if anyone knew of any tuners that really just unlocked that extra RPM and horsepower.
