Value of a 64 Rude 9.5...?

Hey Folks,

I've upgraded to a larger fishing boat, and I'm now left with my old 64 Evinrude 9.5, so I guess I'll just sell it. What is it worth? I'm not looking to make killing on it, I just want a fair price.

It runs nice, it's a bit big for 9.5hp, and the only thing wrong with it is a broken choke knob. If I have it tuned up and have the choke knob replaced, what would it fetch?

Thanks in advance...

Hi Chuckster,
I sold a very clean later version ('72) of your motor last summer for $300, including the fuel tank. I had replaced the waterpump impeller, hoses, condensers, points and plugs.
- Scott

I just bought a 55 10HP Johnson for 45.00. Came with gas can also. Runs, but needs tuneup.

Chuck - Could you use it as an auxiliary?

My guess on a fair price would be in the $200-250 range. It could be in as good a condition as a motor that is only a coulple of years old but is 39 years old which will scare off a few.

Thanks guys, I was figuring about $200 so that's cool...

SoLittle, when I bought my boat it came with a much newer Merc 9.9 on a bracket, so the ole Rude just looks sad sitting in the garage.

I'll throw a sign on it this spring on the Cape and I'm sure it won't last long...

Thanks again for the advice...
