Value of Boat Motor & trailer

I'm currently in a dispute with the co. tax man over the value of my boat. I have a 1999 Ranger R81 powered with 175 h/p evinrude ficht motor. What would be a fair market value for this boat considering the problems with OMC bankruptcy and Bombardier taking over and not honoring warrenties, and no parts available. The co. says it is worth $21,000 I disagree. <br />

Hmmm. Okay, SuperHook, what do you think of this idea.<br /><br />Write the tax dude a letter.<br /><br />"SOLD!! You may pick up your boat as soon as you deliver the cash."<br /><br />Or, on a more realistic plane: Get written appraisals from two or three boat dealers stating what THEY would give for the boat.<br /><br />Good luck.<br /><br />Red sky at night. . .<br />JB
