Value of Suzuki 1997 DT15C Outboard

Hello,

I recently bought a sailboat that came with a 1997 Suzuki DT15C outboard for the boat's dinghy. I already have an outboard and am planning to sell the Suzuki, but have not idea what to ask for in terms of a selling price.

The engine is in good condition, both cosmetically and mechanically. Works just fine.

I'm thinking of asking $1,500 for it. Is that out of the ballpark?

Only way to know for sure is to look at craigslist and compare. $1500 seems pretty high. A new Tohatsu is only around 2K. I would think that 600-700 would be about right. It is almost a 14 yo motor. If you think thats to low start at 8-900 and see if you get any bites. Thing is you can get newer outboard with a boat hooked to them, on a trailer for less than your asking. But ultimately it is worth what someone is willing to pay.
