Value on a Sea Ray

I'm thinking about buying an '87 19' Sea Ray Seville CC with a Merc 470 (please no lectures on this engine, I'm well aware of it's reputation on this site and it's design concerns) on a trailer and am looking for some advice on what it's worth. I have use of the boat for the summer and the engine runs great and the hull is solid. However, the center floor board above the fuel tank is rotten and needs to be replaced and the vertical pieces that it screws into are delaminating as is anther part of the floor. The horn doesn't work, the bilge pump sticks on, the structure of the seats needs to be replaced, the stern light doesn't work, and the structure under one of the rear seats needs to be replaced. It has a bimini and cockpit cover that are in decent shape. The trailer is missing a fender and needs to be repainted and rewired.

I can do most of the work myself but am looking for some advice on sell price. Blue book on it at average value is $1200.

Ayuh,.... A 23year old rotten hull with a 470 Ain't worth $1200....
It's worth Whatever you're willin' to pay...

Do you have the time and money to invest it in? Sounds like you are probably going to be at least a couple thousand down by the time it is finished, and 100+ hours.

If it still makes sense, its a deal (well, over priced deal) If not, you might be able to spend a couple more thousand and have a good solid boat now instead of going through a mini-resto.

My friend actually owns the boat and is fexible on price. I want to get a deal but don't want to **** him off by low balling. I was thinking of offering 700-800 for it. The boat is functional right now, but some of the repairs are immediate. Others could be put off a year or two as they aren't affecting the structure of the boat.

You are in the right range of price, but it will need a lot of work. If you like that kind of project, jump in. But believe me, from the description, all the wood is rotten.

You will need to pick it up cheap in order to have room for repair and reconstruction. I assume not more than $700 - $1000 for starters. Expect to have $5k into it when done. (not kidding with you). The transom and stringers WILL be rotted.
