Valve Cover Bolt Torque

When using rubber valve cover gaskets, how tight should the 4 bolts on a SBC 5.7 ('88) be tightened? The manual doesn't seem clear on this? <br /><br />Also, is there a tightening sequence that should be used? Any incremental steps? Thanks!

i meant 80

but on a vortec valve cover. the bolts bottom out before the gasket squeezes out though right?!
