Re: valve question

What books are you reading?

According to the OEM manual, you torque them down to 20 ft. lbs.
It's easy to tell by just looking at the rocker arm studs. If they have a step in them where the threads end and the step is bigger in diameter than the threads, then you torque them, if the stud is the same diameter all the way down, the valves need adjusting.

Re: valve question

thank you, they do have a step. i am looking at both manual 7 and 25. #25 looks like the engine i am working on from the pics in the book where #7 doesn't. I will torque those down
thank you

Re: valve question

18 is the one you want, both of those are the wrong manuals for your engine.
