Valvebody Check Valves are stuck?

I read that it is a press fit and boiling in water helps. My question is: Is it a straight thru press fit (all pieces can be pressed from one side and all come out the other) or do they have to come out their "own" side (they only come out on the side they are on)?

I read some pull them out, but I don't see how that can happen on mine. It's an 87 85hp force. There is no groove to pull/pry from.

Duck season is next weekend HELP!! I know, I know last minute  .

THANKS!!

None of the valve bodies are press fit and none can be pressed through the pump body. The only way I ever got one out was to remove the circlip and actuate the pump--blew it out across the room.

do not damage the retaining rings when removing. They need to be SS and you will have a very hard time finding replacements. go to NAPA and buy some plugs for standard brake hydraulics (size 3, inverted flare plug)/ Plug up all the ports and run it inside of a garbage bag. Don't lose any parts or damage any aluminum and it will remain fixable no matter what you do. pry, bend, drill, stretch, crack, or distort the aluminum and you may need to buy parts before it works again.

Haha the rings are a little bent, but I think I have more that are SS from another project.
I'm headed to NAPA now (glad they are open Sunday's). I'll have to head back there to get the O-rings too, good thing they are less than a mile away!

Thanks for the help Frank & RRitt!! I'd guess I'll prob have more questions... so don't go far LOL!!

Well... I plugged them all up. Ran it and nothing came out either side. Any ideas?

Re: Valvebody Check Valves are stuck?

I wrestled with it some more... still nope. The T/T motor runs but they aren't budging.
The way most talked they would come flying out of there!! Is there something I missed??

BTW: I hunted around 20 minutes for one of the motor brush springs that came flying out when I was trying to put the halves back together. What a PITA!! It was on the otherside of the garage!

Haha well after some struggles, I have a working tilt and trim again. I was a little confused on the procedure, but all is well now. Thanks for the suggestions Frank And special thanks to Mr Tilt and Trim (RRitt). Motor stayed up for over 3hrs this am while hunting.

Total cost was around $50: Parts - $15 Beverage - $35.
