I have a 2001 90hp 60 degree optic ignition.

Can anybody tell me what the fuel vapor seperator actually does and how can you check it to see if it is functioning properly?

I also have an earlier post going about my motor bogging down at higher rpms.

Re: Vapor Seperator Question...

The vapor seperator fills with gasoline, and allows any air to bubble out. Only liquid gasoline is supplied to the OMS pump for mixing with 2 cycle oil.

It like a big carburator bowl. Fuel with bubbles come in. The bubbles rise out and the fuel pump pulls clean fuel from the bottom.
