I am getting closer to resolving a problem but need some help to get it complete. I have 2001 Bayliner with a VDO Instrument Cluster. I get power for about a second to the cluster then it shuts down. Once in a great while it will stay working for a few minutes. I believe that there is a ground wire that can be added to the pin system to alleviate this problem but I am not sure how to do this. I have verified that there is 12V power to all of the correct pins via the manual I rec'd from VDO. ATF said that they could bench test it for 50 dollars and repair for 225 but if it is just a ground wire I am more than capable of adding.
Any suggestions?
