vent holes in prop

I have 84 mercury 150 on a 84 17 ft hydra sport with a 14in. by 24p ss prop. how big of a vent hole can I drill without hurting performance? thanks

Why do you want to drill a vent hole(s)? I don't believe that is something that should be done to a prop that did not incorporate vents in the design to start with. Especially if you are not a skilled prop guy.
