Hi guys,

As a newbie Verado owner; the Verado 200-275 HP seem to be identical engines with the difference between them being in the electronics somewhere - is this correct?

If so, would it then be possible to change some chip to make the engine go from a 200 to a 275 HP output? Do any of you know if such a chip swap would be possible, if it's commercially available somewhere, and if there is a host of other things that need to be swapped or adjusted as well?

I was kind of wondering the same thing with the 115 4 stroke I know with quad and sled four stokes there are aftermarket CDI units that up your horsepower substantially and many other aftermarket products but I have not seen anything for outboards other than just performance props there must be someone out there selling aftermarket performance products for these four strokes does anyone know where to get them.

They keep it pretty locked down ;)

And with 99.3% of the buying public wanting there motor to keep its coverage if it pops i think Mods will pretty rare :D
