2003 Yam 150 HP TXRB. I noticed after returning to the dock that my remote tank was real low, maybe an inch. I would have assumed I would have had a low oil warning (not the whole alarm/shut down) as I have with a Johnson VRO, which trips at about 2" level. Is there a low oil warning and should it have tripped, and if so, how can I tell if it's working, or test it?
I don't have the digital gauges. This is a 2003 Sea Hunt with the basic package, I understand. Boat is new to me this spring. Since I bought it used, I'd be interested in verifying all the alarms if it's not too complicated.
thanks
PS I searched first and didn't see this question posted previously.

change your junk rigging to factory Yamaha and you will have a visual remote oil level indicator.
after market stuff doesnt have it.
after market junk also do not contain the visual indicates for total hours, trip hours, trim, overheat or low engine tank alarms.
only alarm you now have for oil is low engine tank alarm.

thanks; I've thought about doing that. I added an hour meter; the trim guage doesn't work but I wouldn't use it anyway since I trim by feel (motor and tabs). Speed and tach works (I guess; GPS has the speed a little different) and GPS Sounder gives me trip info. But I am concerned about the oil and heat just being the buzzer. My Yam 50 has the lights on it which are useful, even though they're just on the motor. Any idea the cost of a Yam tach, installed?
