Re: Verizon Phones

I'm not up on the latest phones but I can tell you about the ones I know about.

My personal phone is a Motokrzr. I like it just fine. It has good reception and clarity. My first one died within the first few days and they replaced it at the store. I have read complaints of the glass cracking on these for no apparent reason. This hasn't happened to me though. I bought a 1gig card for it and have been able to upload mp3s to it and play it through the aux input in my truck. It works but really isn't worth the trouble for me. You'll have to dig to find the right software. You'll also need a special phono plug adaptor which can be hard to find. If you get the wrong one it'll only play in mono (or burn up your phone according to the guy at Radio Shack).

The phone my work provided me is a Palm Treo 700w. It has good reception and clarity. It comes with MS Outlook for you to sync the phone with. It'll keep all your contacts and calendar data. It'll remind you of upcoming calendar events. I find it very useful for work but it is big. It seems to be pretty durable as I have dropped in onto concrete twice now. It's a PITA to dial a number but if it's already in your contacts it's easy to call someone. If you don't need a PDA I would say don't bother.

My wife has an LG Chocolate. It has good reception and clarity. She hates it. The controls are weird and awkward for her to use. She also has a Mac and has been unsuccessful syncing mp3s with it, but that's not the phone's fault. Her phone was replaced just a couple of weeks ago under warranty when it suddenly died. This is also a chic phone btw.

Re: Verizon Phones

My older Verizon Motorola phone got washed in the laundry. It was a great phone, battery lasted for 2 to 3 days.
I had to get a newer version to replace it.Ended up getting the Krzr K1 i think its called. It was 19.99 and was shipped next day free by ordering it from Verizons website.
So far it has worked just fine.
Still trying to find the software to download pics from it to PC.I have the USB cord but my PC does not see the phone when i plug it in.

Re: Verizon Phones

my LG has survived a dip in the lake and a spin in the washer. It works but shuts off sometimes and the speaker phone is gone. Amazing it works really. Pretty happy with it, but don't like that the speed dial number 1 is voicemail and is unchangeable.

Re: Verizon Phones

phone tools doesn't really work with verizon phones without some hackery....

All the verizon phones use verizon software.... and it sucks.

I have a razor v3.xx through cingy, and it works awesome. phone tools works awesome on it. i can make my own ringtones. put whatever music and video i want on it from my pc. sync my phonebook to my email, etc. The user interface on the verizon phone starts to bog down really fast as you save info to the phone... and that includes having a phonebook and text messages on the phone. the cingy one doesn't
And the reason why????
Coz cingy doesn't gimp the phone, and the phone uses the original motorola software. It's not the phone that sucks... it's what verizon puts on it that sucks.

Re: Verizon Phones

My LG phone sat submerged in a cooler one time overnite. I dried it out thinking it was toast and it works now. Took about a week to dry out but it now works. I cannot turn it off cause it comes right back on as soon as you turn it off but hey it was under water for 12 hours. I was supprised. I was told that if your phone gets wet you MUST remove the battery as soon as you take it out of the water and do not replace if for a couple of days or its fried. Thats what i did and it still works now!
