Vertical Motor Storage? Hay at least I know the year.

I have winterized my 1966 Evinrude. Instead of leaving it out in the cold(on the boat) I have opted to store it in my attached heated garage. <br /><br />Will laying a outboard on the ground for the winter create any adverse affects? I only ask because all the information I have read says only to stow you motor in a vertical postion, but this might be to let the water drain?<br /><br />Thanks <br />DC

A 2-stroke, no worries. <br />There is no water inside. No fuel in the carb, and no oil in the crankcase as in a 4-stroke.
