Vertical or offset exhaust?

On the Alpha 1 gen 1 outdrive, how do I identify what sort of exhaust I have and what's the difference? I'm in the process of shopping around for a transom assembly, as per my "Water getting in" post and as looking for clarification. Thanks in advance.

There were only 2 different gimbal housings offered, and that difference was the exhaust pipe (straight for in line engines, Y pipe for V8s) mounting holes... You're looking for any V8 gimbal housing...

I have no idea what you mean by vertical or offset exhaust. That makes no sense...
