Very ignorant ski pylon question

I have never had a boat with a ski pylon. I have always tied skiers to the back of the boat. What is the correct way to tie off to a pylon. I would rather sound like a fool to you guys than look like one on the river. <br /><br />Thanks,

Most ski pylons just use the end of the rope (loop) doubled over the top, in the groove.

i stick the rope through the looped end of the line (like a setting up yo-yo string) and stick the slip-knot you've just made over the pole and in the groove. pull from the skier's end of the line to make sure it's cinched up tight and secure. you don't want there to be any slack in the line or knot when you start pulling the skiier.
