Very oily water in bildge (merc-bowrider)

I have a small bowrider with a 3 liter merc and when I pulled the drain plug after being in the water for a week, the water was very grey and oily. The boat ran fine all week, but should I be concerned and what can I look for?

First thing I would check is your dipstick. If it looks like oil and nothing else, then see if your drive lube reservoir is leaking. Sometimes they weep out the vented cap when the level is too high.
