Hi folks---need some advice. Bought a 1985 SEA NYMPH 175 FISH & SKI---stripped out foam, currently working on rotted transom. Wet transom plywood is out, new is cut. I had planned on Glu-Vitting the inside aluminum transom before i attached new plywood-----noticed the center part of transom aluminum is very pitted. My thoughts are to glu-vit area, then 5200 a small piece (6'' x 8')' of aluminum over that area. The transom plywood will be against that new piece. I have a 2'x2' 3/16'' sheet to go on the outside of the transom, and the cap over the whole thing.
i have re-built many transoms--just never had this much pitting. i worry more about leaks than structure here.
what do you guys think???
thank you
