VHF antenna mount for Sunchaser 22 party barge

Just purchased 22 foot 2015 Sunchaser. Ordered a GX1700 VHF radio. Need to find an antenna. Was wondering where the best place is to mount the antenna. Any suggestions for a decent antenna? Will be putting around Hampton Roads VA and in the Bay on calm days.

I mount mine on the bottom of the fence by the helm so I can lower it in the rivers when it get short because of trees. I have always used the 8' shakespeares. Taller the better for distance.

I have a 5' VFH mount. Works just fine and is out of the way.
