VHF Antenna

Hello Everyone, Can anyone tell me if it is possible to replace the coax on a 8' VHF antenna? It somehow got cut at the base mount. Not by the chainsaw..... Haven't had the chance to check it out thourghly yet, but would like some insight first. If you have enough of a pigtail remaining you can add connectors and another length of cable. One thing to remember is that there is always some loss of power at a connector but not as much of a loss out of your wallet when compared to a new antenna.
